![]() ![]() She baked sugar cookies and made Southern Fried Chicken for the knight and his men (yup, you guessed it, you-all, she was a Southern gal) and I am pretty sure a run-down castle in the middle of nowhere would not have had such a ready supply white flour and sugar in the 1300's, when flour was mostly very coarse and dark, and sugar was reserved for the rich. Shades of Outlander much? (to borrow an expression she used a lot in the book). ![]() One thing leads to another, she is transported, somehow, back to the 1300's where boyfriend's ancestor, who looks a lot like boyfriend (after 700 years?) is also creepy and hates her. Said girl realises it would be a mistake (because you wouldn't make that decision BEFORE you hop on that all-expenses paid trans-Atlantic flight) and refuses. Modern American girl travels with rich, controlling and slightly creepy English boyfriend to England, where he proposes to her (after fat-shaming her constantly- although she does seem a trifle obsessed with eating unhealthy food). ![]() Yeah.nah! This Australian expression sums up my review. ![]()
